Warblers and vireos populate the Kingfisher Trail at Pinnacle Mountain State Park. In many ways this is the perfect trail. There are both ample parking and a restroom at the trailhead, the trail is paved and level, and is at once scenic, productive, and short.

Only slightly longer is the trail at the Arkansas Arboretum. This less visited area provides a quieter, more solitary birding experience. Yellow-billed Cuckoo is a frequent visitor here, especially at the end of the side trail to the Little Maumelle
River.

If you didn’t get your fill of expansive views from atop Pinnacle Mountain, the viewing platform just above the Pinnacle Mountain State Park visitors center parking lot provides great views of the Arkansas River to the north. Take your spotting scope. The Rocky Valley Trail starts here and can be excellent for warblers.
